Because of the many similarities between Triton and Pluto, it has long been thought that there is some sort of historical connection between them. Indeed, it was once proposed that Pluto is really an escaped moon of Neptune, but this is now thought to be improbable. It is now considered to be much more likely that Triton, like Pluto, orbited our Sun freely, but was unlucky enough to be snared by Neptune--whereas Pluto was left independent and free to wander at will within its distant birthplace.

That means if you spend time on the water fishing, you'll be more successful simply due to the fact that the moon is in a certain phase. I realize how strange this may sound to some of you, but it's nonetheless true. Simply spending your fishing time fishing when the moon is Full or New will have a dramatic result on your catch rates.

Dozens of crewless spacecraft, including landers, rovers, and orbiters, have been dispatched to Mars by the Soviet Union, the United States, Europe, and India to observe the planet's climate, surface, and geology. Since the year 2000, cameras circling in orbit around Mars have sent back to Earth a treasure chest overflowing with revealing pictures of the "fire star." These wonderful images have displayed a Martian surface etched with small valleys and carved into slopes. These features are eerily similar in their shape to gullies carved by gushing water flowing on Earth. The Martian gullies are believed to be less than a few million years old--a tiny wink of the eye on geological time scales. In fact, some of the gullies even appear to be younger than that! These detections are enticing. This is because the observations hint to planetary scientists that great quantities of liquid water may still be lingering on Mars at present--and that this gushing water might be what carved out the gullies.
The scientists then went on to determine that the lunar birthday must have occurred approximately 95 million years after the formation of our Solar System--give or take about 32 million years.
There is an important distinction between the way giant planet systems form--such as those belonging to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune--and the way that the rocky planets such as Earth, and the dwarf planet, Pluto, take shape. The gaseous giant planets are surrounded by rings, a myriad of moons, and a vast number of tiny dancing moonlets, whereas the rocky planets have none, or only one moon, and no rings to be seen. Until this new model was developed, two scenarios were generally used to explain how the regular moons of our Solar System were born. These two commonly used explanations suggest that the moons of Earth and Pluto came into being following catastrophic impacts. They further suggest that the moons of the giant, outer planets were born in a nebula floating around the newborn gigantic planet. They fail, however, to explain the distribution and chemical composition of the moons circling the gigantic outer four. Something, therefore, up until now, has been missing.
